matt found this shirt on the floor & if i remember correctly he ripped the sleeves off. this looks like it was taken in the van. matt was the person i knew least when we were skeletons was started. he was the drummer for a friends band. he is one of the best people i have ever met & makes me feel lucky for the friends i have. on the last we were skeletons tour i was trying to steal some stuff from walmart & i got a text from him that read some along the lines of “i’m playing video games let me know when you’re ready” & it just sums up how perfect this kid is. he has the highest of moral codes but will rage & party harder than any person you know. i’ve run on the beaches of california, wandered the streets of ghent, & driven across the entirety of the country with this kid. & i’m so lucky to know people like this.

This fellow is named Josh Betke. He was arrested last night for assault with a dangerous weapon, and was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and ecstasy. The assault was on a friend and ex-housemate and happened in my basement at an otherwise normal and peaceable show. No one is friends with this guy. The attack was from behind and unprovoked, wherein he slashed at the throat of our friend with a knife while holding their hair.

He was (obviously) caught, but on the off chance he gets to roam the neighborhood again, keep an eye out. Also, take care of your friends. This sort of behavior is completely unacceptable, and totally uncalled for. This man had nothing to do with this community, yet his actions have stirred up fright in the community, and defamed an otherwise decent household.

This happened last night during our set. Just want to say we are very happy our friend Pete made it out of this.

More and more violent acts have been happening around Kalamazoo lately, specifically in our neighborhood, but this is a first in a basement during a show. The DIY underground world is not impervious to this kind of violence but it is important to understand that this is not the norm and not the sort of thing we accept - and that strength and safety comes from your friends, from your community. Watch out for your friends and yourself out there wherever you are. Kalamazoo needs to and will be more vigilant than ever from now on.

These are the tracks i have so far for the Orchid Tribute 12” LP.

5-6 of these will be streaming on the Dog Knights Bandcamp on Christmas day! So far confirmed: Foxes, Lord Snow and Coma Regalia.

The plan was to launch pre-orders at the beginning of December but there have been so many delays. Hopefully these will be on sale at the end of January and i will stream 1 track each day leading up to this TBC date.
